The 2026 Wabamun Sailing Club’s Founders’ Regatta & Fireball North American Championship brought 98 competitors from Alberta, British Columbia and Saskatchewan together for three days of racing, June 12-14, 2026.
Friday saw some gusty and shifty conditions as the 17 boat Fireball fleet settled in for the weekend. On Saturday, when the Opti, 420, ILCA 4/6/7 & Open fleets joined the regatta, winds became light, but challenging. Our club grounds were filled with tents and hammocks swayed in the trees as many families, coaches, competitors and cadets enjoyed some of WSC’s best hospitality.
Full results can be found below, but congratulations to Averil and Grant L. from Hollyburn Sailing Club for winning the Fireball Championship, Phil P. for winning ILCA 7, Zairyn M for winning ILCA 6, Samuel M. for winning ILCA 4, Justin T. and Thea K. for winning the 420 class, Neriya B. for winning Opti and Bernice C. and Jillian G for winning in the Open class.
